USG heart - echocardiography

The ultrasound equipment at BALTICA Wellness & Spa is the latest in its class, allowing one- and two-dimensional examinations with a Doppler and colour Doppler option, to give early diagnosis. The examination is fast, pain-free and easily repeatable. The equipment has a high-quality image and full compatibility with all computer formats, allowing recording onto CD-ROMs and magneto-optical discs with the following formats: TIFF, BMP, AVI, MPEG.

Most tests can be done without the need for any preparation.
We recommend that you bring the results of any previous examinations you may have had, along with your medical history and a list of any medications you may be taking.

Ultrasound is used to:

• diagnose coronary heart disease (evaluate the extent of a heart attack)
• diagnose heart defects
• evaluate advanced heart failure
• evaluate the post-operative condition of the heart
• diagnose chest pains
• evaluate heart contractility prior to non-cardiological surgery  
• evaluate athletes’ hearts
• evaluate non-advanced changes in the heart in those with conditions such as high blood pressure
• monitor the progression of heart disease
• qualify the patient for further invasive diagnostic procedures or heart surgery
• evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for heart disease
