This year, competitors in The Tall Ships Races 2011 raced between Ireland, Britain, Norway and Sweden.

The pride of Poland and Szczecin, the Dar Młodzieży, set off from Szczecin for the first leg from Waterford, on to Greenock and then Stornaway, which lasted from 1 to 15 July, following with the second leg of Stornoway - Lerwick - Stavanger and finishing in Halmstad, from 15 July to 8 August.

In Halmstad, the Dar Młodzieży once again won an award for the street parade. The city of Szczecin had its own stall, in partnership with Baltica Wellness & Spa and the Stockholm-based Polish Tourist Authority, located on the waterfront alongside the Dar Młodzieży. The stall proved highly popular among visitors to the final port of call at the Tall Ship Races 2011, with the main attraction being a prize draw. The main prize, drawn from questionnaires designed by City Hall in Szczecin, was a weekend for two in Szczecin at the Radisson Blu Hotel, including Baltica Wellness & Spa treatments and the ferry trip on Unity Line.

Although we’ve just said goodbye to the Tall Ship Races 2011, the Polish crew would like to remind you all that in two years the final stage of the regatta will once again be held in Szczecin. The event truly is an exceptional and wide-ranging way to promote the city of Szczecin throughout the sailing world, and over the years 2010-2013 is sponsored by the city. Featuring the message "Presented by Szczecin", the logo appears not only at all the ports of call but also on the tens of thousands of publications, leaflets, invitations, programmes, banners, souvenirs and soft toys associated with the event.

The parade under full sail to close the event was an amazing finale to the regatta in Halmstad.

Thanks for coming and being with us!

LET’S MEET IN SZCZECIN!
