Exercise ECG
The test is performed on a patient who is in motion (riding a stationary bicycle, during a walk etc.). While the diagnosis is carried out the electrodes are fixed to the moving patient’s body.
An ECG is a non-invasive method for diagnosing heart problems. Baltica Wellness & Spa has the latest in ECG equipment to bring you an accurate and speedy diagnosis.
An exercise ECG is used for:
- identifying coronary heart disease (CHD)
- evaluating the effectiveness of CHD treatment
- evaluating patients following coronary angioplasty or bypass surgery
- detecting heartbeat irregularities linked to exercise
- evaluating the effectiveness of antiarrhythmic drugs
- evaluating exercise tolerance in patients with heart conditions, in particular with heart failure
An exercise ECG allows:
- further rehabilitation plans to be made
- the extent of CHD to be evaluated
- indications to be made for further invasive diagnosis of heart disease
- physical endurance evaluations for young athletes for training schedule planning
- further pharmaceutical treatment plans to be made (i.e. choice of medications)
