• Medicinal massage – partial. For treating particular problem areas by carrying out specified manual treatments consisting of smoothing, stretching and pummelling the body. As part of a prescribed course of treatment it is a recognised preventive method and treatment for many diseases and conditions.
• Active exercises – cross trainer, bike, treadmill, rowing machine. These types of exercise are used to treat a range of conditions affecting posture or movement and also pain, affecting in particular the back, joints and muscles. Kinesiotherapy is treatment with movement, and these exercises are designed to improve problems with the nervous, respiratory and circulatory systems. The exercises on the cardio equipment will increase the patient’s overall fitness.
